Thujopsis dolabrata Hondai Southern Europe evergreen to 15 degrees FThis selection of thujopsis from northern Japan is much more tolerant of heat and sun than the typical species. The appearance is similar to regular thujopsis with flat fans of swollen, glossy green, arborvitae like foliage. Eventually, Thuja dolabrata 'Hondai' will make a very elegant conical 5' wide x 12' tall specimen in 10 years, but it will first form a compact bush for 4 5 years until the central leader begins to develop.
