SCOTT (RED) DISTRICT Marshall and FalconerThis is the most popular Scott tartan in modern times. Earliest reference possibly 1829 in a letter from Sir Thomas Dick Lauder to Sir Walter Scott in which he tells Scott that he had seen this tartan in a manuscript prepared for the brothers John Sobieski and Charles Edward Stuart.
