#51 Aristolochia clematitis Bydo in the course of whichThis print shows two types of aristolochia plants; both belong to the birthwort family. Parts of the plant may be used for medicinal treatments of various health conditions. This hand colored copper plate engraving is part of a collection of prints from the book Figures of the Most Beautiful Plants Described in the Gardeners Dictionary, published by Philip Miller in London in 1770. There were multiple contributing illustrators, including Georg Ehret.
