Pags began by painting in Quercy, where he was born in 1940. However, he would soon abandon painting for the more perilous terrain of sculpture. And it was as a sculptor that the practice of paper would continue to impose itself on him. As a sculptor, he would love and mistreat paper. Paper that he never ceased to experiment with, trusting in the sculptor's repertoire that he had
