Techniques archéologiques 19-21 Mai 2000In 1858, the Universal Suez Canal Company was founded to build a canal connecting the Mediterranean and the Red Sea; in 1956, the Egyptian state proclaimed the nationalization of the company. Between these two dates, this commercial company created and administered major engineering structures, three new cities, and agricultural estates. The economic and social ecology of Egypt's eastern margins was radically transformed. The thirteen contributions
