Spain, Facist State. A War Cross, Type I (1938-1942) consisting of a blue enamelled Romanian Cross with clusters of nine gilt rays in eac (641 Lce SEJT J(Cruz de Guerra). Instituted in 1938. Three piece construction, centrepiece insignia in bronze gilt with red, white and blue enamels, the insignia centering a silver gilt wreath with cross and backed by crossed swords, the four arms of the cross bearing the Franco crown, two facing lions and a castle, mounted to a silver eight pointed star base, each star point with five pairs of faceted rays, with a single pair of faceted rays between each star
