Georgian Black Dot Paste Earrings pool of light The Baccanti screamedDATE: Georgian, c. 1790 A fantastic pair of antique black dot paste earrings dating from the Georgian period, circa 1790. The domed paste gemstones are foil backed to enhance their brightness, and remain full life to this day. The stones rest in silver "pie crust" settings, with later added gold wires. The black dot in the middle of the stone has been painted on to replicate the open culet found on old cut diamonds (prior to the invention of the
