A rare Maschinengewehr 42 (MG 42) barrel carrier, constructed of a two piece magnetic metal shell with a three tone camouflage paint scheme throughout the exterior, opening with a functional hinge to reveal a hollow interior, in turn fastening closed with a retractable clip, each end retaining a magnetic metal loop for the accommodation of an olive drab canvas carrying strap, one end bearing a white highlighted inscription of LAUF
