KIDD (ANCIENT) DRESS suggesting a territorial origin forThis tartan was originally supplied by William Wilson and Sons of Bannockburn to a Mr Kidd who used it to clothe the slaves on his West Indian plantation. It was therefore called 'Kidd' in Wilson's pattern book. In 1822 Wilsons supplied this design to MacPherson and it was thereafter known as 'MacPherson'.
