Instituted August 3rd, 1864. (1931 1939 issue). An eight pointed multi faceted star with a large white enameled gilded Greek Cross with fleur de lys in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, the obverse with a central emblem bearing the coat of arms of Castile, Len, Aragon, Navarre, and Granada, topped by a gilt bar shield to bear the date of bestowal (blank) topped by a Royal Crown decorated with red enameled
