Switzerland. A Dragoon Officer’s Dress Sword, By J.J. Girtanner, C.1820 Auction Archive but most likely of GermanAn infantry officers dress sword, measuring 1020 mm when inserted into the scabbard. The sword features an 810 mm long polish magnetic metal blade with a sharpened tip and unsharpened edges, and with a fuller extending along the length of each side. The lower third of both the obverse and reverse demonstrates bluing, in turn overlaid by a variety of etched and gilded decorations. The upper edge of the blade bears an etched makers mark of J. J.
