Instituted 18 November 1836 by by Heinrich, Duke of Anhalt Kthen, Leopold IV, Duke of Anhalt Dessau, and Alexander Karl, Duke of Anhalt Bernburg. Constructed of bronze, the obverse depicting a central crowned bear on top of a fortress wall, circumscribed by an inscription of FUERCHTE GOTT UND BEFOLGE SEINE BEFEHLE (FEAR GOD AND OBEY HIS COMMANDMENTS), the reverse with a central crown
