Germany, Luftwaffe. A Ground Assault Badge, by Arno Wallpach United Republic of Medals were produced(Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Constructed of silvered and toned zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaying a cloud from which a lightning bolt emanates and strikes the ground, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting a large integral catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture
