Footnote: The 50th Regiment (Gordon Highlanders of Canada) was formed in Victoria, British Columbia, Sir Arthur Currie helping to raise the regiment in 1913. It contributed volunteers to the 7th Infantry Battalion and the 16th Infantry Battalion "Canadian Scottish", among others at the outbreak of the war. The
