This is an original 1898 two color cover for the Harvard Lampoon. It features the Lampy the Jester sitting on a winged horse, holding up a shield inscribed with the motto Vanitas (Latin, meaning "empty"), a parody of Harvard's motto, Veritas, or "Truth". The inner panel is of a witty conversation between a well dressed young lady and an elegant gentlemen about a student in some difficulty at Harvard. CONDITION
