Late 19th Century Herring's Patent Champion Safe Back Panel speakeasy 14" W x 14" Dc. 1870s; Herring & Co. New York Antique wooden rear panel for a home and office safe. This piece comes from the "new" patent safe by Herring. It features, most notably, a Dexter combination mechanism in the center. The rest of the panel features graphics and lettering that inform people not only of the patent date and information but also illustrated gold medals showing how highly regarded their products are.
