MACLEOD OF LEWIS DRESS (WEATHERED) Choose:By the metre but this is taken toAlso known as MacLeod Dress and sometimes jokingly referred to as 'Loud MacLeod' but Sir Thomas Dick Lauder obviously liked it . . . in a letter to Sir Walter Scott in 1829 he wrote, 'MacLeod has got a sketch of this splendid tartan, three black stryps upon ain yellow fylde.'
